Fifth Deduction [Voice]

Tomorrow is May 4, isn't it?  I feel like there is something about that date I should be remembering.

Something important.

....This is frustrating!  What is it?

Spring fever?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that isn't it. Its something about the date. I know that much.
fierybluebird: (Pops is huge yes)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-03 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Parent's birthday?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I never remember that.
fierybluebird: (Keep talking)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-03 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
One of those types, eh.

What do you normally do back in your world?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Birthdays aren't important.

I go to school.

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-03 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You're just a bundle of fun, aren't you kid?

Maybe it's a school thing?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
They're boring. And annoying. everyone making a fuss over something that doesn't matter.

I doubt that. It feels like something more personal than that.
fierybluebird: (thinking)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-03 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It matters to them.

Well, what things are important to you?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never seen the point.

[Conan thinks about that, and his expression suddenly lights up.]

Holmes fell down Reichenbach Falls on May 4 in 1891.
fierybluebird: (hm?)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-03 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Holmes??

... Huh, I don't think I'll ever get used to hearing about worlds that are hundreds of years into the future of mine.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-03 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Sherlock Holmes!
fierybluebird: [Marco arching an eyebrow leaning on an arm with blue background] (Is that so?)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Who's that?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
The best detective. He was always cool and calm in every situation. Just from his observations he could tell everything about a person. And his logic was brilliant! There was no case he couldn't solve,
fierybluebird: (Keep talking)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-04 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? Sounds like Garp the Fist. Only without the punching... and actual logic.

So what happened to him on May 4th?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
He met his enemy Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls. And they fell. It was all in the Adventure of the Final Problem.

Hmm...I'm not very good with dates. I have to write everything down--I get lots of practice because the Professor isn't good with commemorative dates either. I have to keep track of all sorts of birthdays and anniversaries and holidays for him.

I don't think May 4th is any sort of holiday that I can think of, though..

[Conan puts his hand on his chin and starts thinking aloud.]

On May 4 in 1891 Sherlock Holmes fell with Moriarty from Reichenbach Falls. In Japan it is celebrated as Greenery Day and falls in the middle of Golden Week,

I only understood enemy and "And they fell" out of all that.

Fell into what? From power or something?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
They fell down the waterfall. Everyone thought they were both dead. But then Doyle brought Holmes back.
fierybluebird: (thinking)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-04 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
A waterfall. Well that wouldn't really kill most people I'd think. Unless they were devil fruit users, eh.

Who's Doyle and how did he do that?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[You criticized a Sherlock Holmes novel. Conan is not impressed with you right now.]

...He's an author. Arthur Conan Doyle. He created Holmes.
fierybluebird: (Keep talking)

[personal profile] fierybluebird 2011-05-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
[That's okay Marco now thinks Conan is definitely a kid.]

So you're a fanboy. You can't remember your parents' birthdays, but you remember the day a fictional character didn't die.

[He pauses, clearly thinking as well.]

Ah. I didn't know that...

To be honest, though I really find Mr. Holmes very interesting I haven't read all of Mr. Doyle's books about him.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Why shouldn't I? Holmes is amazing.
