Fifth Deduction [Voice]

Tomorrow is May 4, isn't it?  I feel like there is something about that date I should be remembering.

Something important.

....This is frustrating!  What is it?

Hmm...I'm not very good with dates. I have to write everything down--I get lots of practice because the Professor isn't good with commemorative dates either. I have to keep track of all sorts of birthdays and anniversaries and holidays for him.

I don't think May 4th is any sort of holiday that I can think of, though..

[Conan puts his hand on his chin and starts thinking aloud.]

On May 4 in 1891 Sherlock Holmes fell with Moriarty from Reichenbach Falls. In Japan it is celebrated as Greenery Day and falls in the middle of Golden Week,

[He pauses, clearly thinking as well.]

Ah. I didn't know that...

To be honest, though I really find Mr. Holmes very interesting I haven't read all of Mr. Doyle's books about him.

Holmes is amazing! I wish I had some of my books with me.

We get to ask for gifts on special occasions!

Not birthdays or anniversaries, but...well, I don't even remember what exactly happened but there was an awful lot of bad things going on--maybe it was when dinosaurs were running all over town. Or maybe when there were word-fish everywhere--anyway, that's not important. But after all of that, things from home just appeared. And on Christmas, they asked us what we'd want from Santa. It's how I got one of my puzzle books here!

[For a moment Conan thinks there is something about birthdays he should be remembering. But then he gets distracted by the rest of that statement. He deliberately ignores the obvious nonsense.]

They give gifts? Isn't that suspicious?

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well...not really. I don't think the scientists want us dead.

If they did, they wouldn't bring us back to life when we died.

[ooc: So close to getting a birthday comment!]

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't believe that. It is most likely some trick.

[ooc: And now he's distracted. Conan is so stubborn about things like this.]

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
No...no. It's definitely not a trick. [He fidgets a bit behind the screen.] I don't really want to explain how I know it's not a trick, but I promise it's definitely not a trick.

[ooc: I know!! And I'm trying to find a re-routing question and failing..]

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't say weird things without evidence. Something like that is just too illogical.

[ooc:maybe I'll stick an eureka moment in in a few comments.]

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I died here before. I'm obviously not dead now, so they don't leave us dead.

There were these time-flowers all over town a ways back, and I just happened to walk past the flower that showed the full sequence of events of how I died. And then I asked the Professor what happened. It happened when I was here before and I didn't remember it at all until I saw it happen.

[ooc: Redirecting is getting harder and harder. Do you know I don't know when Luke's birthday is? I've read all sorts of character profiles but it's not stated anywhere I've seen. Now I'm going to look again.]

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't it possible that they manufactured that evidence? You're alive now, so you couldn't have died.

[ooc:Definitely a eureka moment then. XD, Conan is the first character I've ever played that had an official birthday. And that's because a criminal bombed a building on his birthday.]

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No. The Professor wouldn't lie. He didn't tell me on purpose, but he wouldn't lie when I asked.

Other people have died here and then come back. It's happened too many times..

[He sighs, thinking.] A lot of things here are very different from home. All sorts of things that weren't possible home can happen here. People can die and come back, and there are monsters and ghosts and magic and all sorts of things that only exist in storybooks.

It's strange, but I've gotten used to it by now.

[ooc: That kind of sucks. Though, he doesn't seem too excited about his birthday so I suppose it's not the end of the world.]

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
He could have been tricked. It isn't so difficult to manufacture evidence of a false death.

People say that, but I haven't seen any evidence that supports it.

[Conan fails at deductions related to his personal life. He can read murder motivations perfectly, but he can't tell when a girl has a crush on him. And he always forgets his birthday. Well, he was living on his own since the age of 14. It isn't really surprising he doesn't care much about celebrating it.]

[Video] I have been thinking of Luke's reply to this sorry

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
The Professor would never, ever lie. And he wouldn't be tricked, either. Neither would I. I know it's sounds absolutely bonkers, but its happened a lot of times.

I know what I've seen--and I was just as skeptical as you are. I wouldn't tell you a lie if I thought there was a chance it was lie, that would be like deliberately spreading a rumor, and that's not allowed.

[ooc: Uh...he's an adult, right? In a kid's body? That's the premise of Case Closed? Also, just fyi, he doesn't have a tag in the tag cloud according to Cube-mun (she tried to tag you for Conan, but there wasn't one)]

No prob, Conan is just being difficult.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Conan crosses his arms behind his head.] Well, that could be true. Its impossible to say without seeing the scene for myself.

[ooc:Yes. He's really 17. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gkRLpr0jxI&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL) is a pretty decent rundown of the premise. And thanks, I'll try and get that fixed.]

Lol I <3 Conan a lot and when it isn't finals time I will totally watch his show.

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well, at least I can promise I wouldn't lie or tell you I'd seen something I didn't see.

[He shrugs behind the screen of the communicator, and realizes why they had been talking to begin with.]

Do you feel better now that'd you've remembered that today was the day Holmes--you said he died, right?--do you feel better now that you've remembered? It's a bit of a strange day to get so frustrated about forgetting, don't you think? At least a bit..

XD, awesome.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it is. I- [And suddenly he has a eureka moment.]

Oh, so that's what it was.

=D I'm actually excited to watch

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
The day Holmes died? Yes..you told me that already.

XD, if you don't have a lot of time its fun to start with the movies.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
It is that too. But I'd forgotten it was my birthday.

Will I be able to follow the movie?

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
It's your birthday?!

We have to do something to celebrate! I didn't know it was your birthday or I'd have already found something to do to celebrate!

Should be. They're not plot related, and they always introduce the key characters and background.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
You really don't have to. I don't like celebrations very much.

Cool!

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
But we have to do something though...it's your birthday...

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Its just a day, you know. It doesn't matter.

[identity profile] luke-triton.livejournal.com 2011-05-08 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...yeah it is just a day. But it's the day you were born, and that's special enough to do something for, isn't it? Your friends can celebrate that they get to be your friends--they couldn't be your friend if you didn't have a birthday, after all!

I think that's reason enough to do something a little bit special, even if it's just small.
