Sixth Deduction [Voice;backdated to May 7]

I was told once that no one here cared about law enforcement or justice.  Regardless, I need to speak to whoever considers themselves in charge of such a thing.  I have a murder to report.

[Locked to Hattori 60%]
Hattori, meet me at Marshall.  I'm at the crime scene.

[He pulls out his communicator and takes a picture of the body.]

I'll inform the other members of the Watch about this recent murder. ...And see if "Tatsumi" is relevant to anyone here.

It sounds like it might be a name.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Most likely.

[He looks down at Conan]

...Investigating a dead body doesn't bother you?

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Conan stares back up, his entire expression radiating innocent sincerity.]

It's sad because I know Robin. But murders happen all the time. I've been at a lot of investigations, because I help Uncle and the police with their cases.

[Kresnik nods at the explanation, finding it to be believable. His world is weird.]

Alright, but don't go searching for the murderer.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I won't!

[Meanwhile Conan is already calculating possible traps.]

[He nods and starts leaving]

Is that all you do at a murder scene, Mr. Watchman?

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks back]

Is there something more that should be done? The body itself will disappear and reappear at the hospital later.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[...Seriously? He had to explain this? And what was with that attitude? The body would turn up at the hospital?]

The scene should be documented. With photographic proof if possible. Any evidence should be bagged and labeled. Samples should be taken from all possible surfaces. A search should be conducted for witnesses and alibis secured from everyone who was present on this location near the relevant time frame.

[He seems surprised at Conan's answer]

...I don't see any weapons or clues... other than that name being written down.

[identity profile] modernholmes.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes the most helpful clues are the ones most likely to be overlooked. Everything in this space is a clue.

That is a dying message. And there is something wrong about that. Normally, in a dying message the victim would try to communicate the name of their killer. It is highly unusual for someone to try and communicate an unrelated person innocence.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He couldn't argue with that, sometimes the most important details are overlooked]

...Yes, it's unusual. That's why I'll look more into who that person is.
