[Accidental Voice/Action for Hospital][

[The first time Conan wakes up, it is to a very familiar pain. Like his very bones were melting and reforming. He bites back a scream and falls unconscious again after only a few seconds..

The second time Conan wakes up he pushes himself up into a seated position and gropes for his glasses. Instead he accidentally knocks his communicator onto the floor as he reaches much too far, overbalancing and falling out of bed with a loud crash. After a stunned moment he sits back up and stares at himself in shock. He was in his real body.]

How? The last thing I remember...

[He cuts himself off, both in surprise at his own voice and at the memory. He shouldn't have survived that. He'd been able to calculate exactly what his captors' intentions had been, and there was no way he could have escaped from it without injury.

Shinichi stands up, hastily wrapping the sheet around himself, and strives to form a plan. First, he needed information. He needed to know where he was and what had happened. And he needed to get in contact with Hattori and Ran. Were they okay?

...Also, he needed clothes. Whatever this location was, the thin sheet he'd located was not nearly enough to ward off the chill.

So, information first. He reaches for the communicator and begins to compose a text message using the highest security he could think of. After a moment of thought he encodes it for the added security.]

[Message sent, he stands up and wraps the sheet tightly around himself before making his way to the door.]

No one else is here, but they might be in some of the other rooms. If I remember right, it was a large building.

[He rubs at his forehead as he paces restlessly.]

Kazuha? Kaito? What happened? Last I remember I was in Dissimulo. Alone. But what happened there...

[Shinichi trails off in a troubled tone.]

Ran! Is she okay?

11 days ago on a Sunday night ya all went missin', along with some other people in Dissimulo. Spero an' Discedo weren't exempt of this either.

Ran is fine. Everyone else in this household is fine. It was only You an' Kazuha who went missin'. Ya were replaced with doubles.

Eleven days. [He repeats that flatly.] I have no memory of any time passing after I was attacked. What is the date?

Doubles? What was the mechanism? Plastic surgery isn't a practical means for replacing more than one person.

...Were you able to determine what they were after?

It's Thursday th' 25th.

Their method was fabricated, they somehow managed ta even duplicate yer Conan self. I'm not sure how- We were given 48 hours ta extract coins from th' fakes in order ta promise yer safety. Th' ones who issued th' warnin' was likely behind it, but contactin' them was impossible.

There is no target preference of who they chose an' th' MO was always different. A group. It was a group, they even abducted people from within' homes.

But if ya were discarded in' th' hospital, th' other abducted victims might be there too.

[He is silent for a long moment.]

I've lost ten days.

About their aims or methods, all I was able to discover was that their method of replacement felt very much like death. The sensations matched everything I know about death through exsanguination exactly.

None of which answers the question of how I was moved to this location or why I am like this.

[Nothing about this made sense.]

If they're here, I'll find them.

[Right after he gets some clothes. About to do just that, he pauses as something bothers him about that statement.]

...How sick are you?

Most of th' abduction scenes revealed some sort of struggle.

That is the only thing about this case that makes any sense so far.

[Shinichi himself was putting significant effort toward staying calm over the situation. None of what he had discovered so far was easing his worries. Whatever it was the culprits had done to him, it had been very convincing. The loss of all that time was worrying him as well. What had happened all those days he couldn't remember?]

If you say so. [He was still worried by the sound of that cough, but he trusted Hattori to know his limits.]

Clothes, if you don't mind. And don't come alone. [He remembered what happened the last time Hattori had gone outide Dissimulo alone.]

Whatever evidence that they could have left was washed away by th' rain. It was pourin' all week. I wasn't aware ya were in Discedo until ya said so.

Adam is sick.

Th' ride is kind'a length. It'd be twentie-thirty minutes at least.

[He makes an annoyed sound. That will make it more challenging to track their movements.

That might be the most puzzling part of this. Why Discedo? The majority of the population is in Spero or Dissimulo.

[From that interprets that Heiji will be coming alone. Well, he could only trust him to be more careful.]

I'll be checking the other rooms in this hospital. I should be able to go through the majority of the floors in that time.

[He knew Hattori wouldn't be able to relax until Kazuha's safety had been verified. It was the same as he was about Ran. And as much as Kaito annoyed him, he was somewhat anxious about the other teen's safety as well.]

Maybe that's why they chose Discedo. With less of a population, it'd be harder ta spot 'em.

Ya might find somethin' important along th' way.

[Shinichi puts away the communicator and heads purposefully toward the door. He a lot to check out, and a short time to do it in.]

[Shinichi checks the time on his communicator and hurries down the steps to the lobby. Stepping off the stairs, he spots Hattori and walks over to him. For some reason, Shinichi is currently dressed in a doctor's suit and white coat.]

K-Kudo.

What have you found out?

[He takes the bundle and shakes his head.]

Some of them are here. I spoke to Luke and some others. But Kazuha wasn't in any of the rooms I checked.

Think th' others might be someone in town?

Everyone I spoke to was involved in one of the incidents. it doesn't seem to matter where they were located before. They were all sent to this hospital.

Which floors have ya checked?

[Shinichi observed his condition with worry. Obviously, Hattori was not doing as well as he'd claimed.]

First through fourth. I still have the basement and the upper floors left.

Then we better check the remainin' floors.

I'll meet you there in ten minutes.

[He'll arrive there several minutes early.]
