Thirteenth Deduction [Voice] Backdated to Friday night

[So... he was back to being Conan again. These brief, brief times when he could be himself. When he could speak with his own voice and answer to his own name. They never lasted long enough. Not for everything he wanted to do. But for now all he could do was keep up the facade.]

Hello? Does anyone know what happened? I think I'm a little confused.

[Luke frowns, thinking how sad it would be to have a relative come here but to not see them.]

No, I just woke up. I haven't even seen Ran-neechan yet.

Then you should get warm.

Th-that wasn't nice of him...t-to not wait..

[He shivers, and pulls the blanket tighter around him with a wince.]

I can't g-get warm and everything h-hurts. I've been t-trying.

Maybe he found a mystery. He's always running off after them.

...Is anyone there with you? You shouldn't be alone if you can't get warm. That could be dangerous.

[He frowns, because yes he was not alone but he was only marginally happier being stuck with Clive.]

And I'm with C-Clive. I was at the hospital, b-but he t-took me here.

[Well, Luke didn't promise not to tell Conan about Clive..] I know h-him from home. H-he...

He's d-did some b-bad th-things...but F-Flora is staying with him t-too and he's b-been nice to h-her.

What did he do?

[Luke glances off screen, as if checking to make sure someone wasn't there, and then whispers his reply. His voice is hoarse, so it's probably a little hard to understand.]

P-pretend to b-be me...and tr-tricked us into t-thinking that the Professor t-turned bad..

And m-maybe tried to blow up L-London.

[He coughs violently, the whispering was too hard for him to maintain.]

[Conan freezes. Someone like that was in Discedo now? And Luke was staying with him?]

Are you safe? Do you need help getting out of there?

[He wiggles behind the camera, because despite being addled and having only promised not to tell Flora, he knew he probably should not have said that.]

'M s-safe...

He's s-sorry and...

[~~Okay maybe he inferred the sorry part.~~ Luke frowns, rubbing his eyes.] But I b-believe him...saying he's g-going to try to owe up to his m-mistakes.

[That was not inspiring much confidence in Conan.]

Do you have anyone else with you there?

[C'mon Conan trust his judgment! What could possibly go wrong?]

B-besides...if he wanted to d-do something b-bad...He d-definitely could've d-done it already...th-there aren't a lot of p-people in Discedo, s-so it would b-be easy.

[No he doesn't want a list. He currently can't quite process enough to read a list, anyway.]

[Not that Luke making him promise really meant much of anything, of course, but hey--it made him trust Clive enough to not make a fuss about Flora being there.]

F-Flora doesn't remember h-him anymore. And T-Takato seems to t-think he's f-fine.

[By the look on Luke's face, it clear that he's not sure if Clive trying to be nice is good or downright terrifying.]

He p-promised in return for me p-promising not to t-tell Flora what he did at h-home.

[None of this is making him any less suspicious.]

And why did he ask that? Who is Flora?

F-Flora is my f-friend from home...

[The longer he relays this story, the less comfortable he feels about the whole situation.]

I t-think he wants to tell her h-himself. I just...

I d-don't know if I sh-should believe him or n-not! And I c-can't leave F-Flora alone if he's lying..

[No, I can do that fine on my own.]

I'm n-not sure how anyone c-could help, anyway.

No, with watching him. With gathering evidence and figuring out what he is trying to do.

[Luke blinks, mostly because he hadn't expected someone to offer help. But Conan--Conan would be able to help. And the Professor would tell him he ought to trust Clive, right? So it was better to seek outside assistance.]

Of course. I'm a detective, after all.

[And this was exactly the kind of thing that no real kid should be trying to do on their own. As long as he was helping he could make sure that Luke wouldn't get into anything dangerous.]
