[This place.... He recognized it. But how? How could he have been brought here again? And how could he have forgotten it all these months? He takes up the communicator and looks it over skeptically, wondering if the people he had known here before were still here, and switches it over to audio. But before he can say anything the teen detective is overcome by another attack. He clutches at his chest and breathes harshly, staggering over to lean up against a wall.]

[S-so hot. I feel like my bones are melting. Will I really change back now? Will I become Conan again? Now? Without a chance to tell her?]

[Shinichi desperately attempts to formulate a plan through the pain. He couldn't allow himself to change back here. Not where anyone could find him. He would be completely vulnerable after the change. This costume had served him well when he had needed it to hide, but none of his gadgets were with him. He could only think of one desperate course of action. Still clutching at his chest as the waves of pulsing pain swept through his body, he slowly raises the communicator to his face and whispers to it in a voice hoarse and strained by pain.]

Hattori?

[But he can say nothing more as the pain suddenly intensifies and he screams.]

[ooc: Conan has been brought back as Shinichi seconds before turning back into Conan. At about the same time as this clip starts.]

[She's jolted awake from the fitful nap she was having since passing at her desk from sheer exhaustion. That scream! It was definitely his frequency, she'd been monitoring it for days after he left. But that wasn't his voice! Adrenalin kicked in before she had time to try and figure it out.]

CONAN!!

[That was... Rebecca? Shinichi was having a hard time focusing through the pain. Any second now, he knew he would return to being Conan. But for now he could not respond. He didn't have his bowtie, and without it he could not mimic Conan's voice. And he didn't have the concentration he needed to type. And so the only thing sudible is harsh breathing and gasps of pain.]

ohgodohgodohgod Where are you??

[That's Conan for sure. It has to be. And he's in pain! Where is he?? Where had he been?? She wishes there was some sort of tracking system so she could find him. She scrambles out of her chair, nearly knocking it over in the process, and rushes out the door. He isn't responding. Might as well search the old fashioned way then!]

[Not good. He couldn't be found like this. Not until he was Conan again and he could figure out what was going on.

But... he couldn't move. All he could do was wait the change out. With a final gasp of pain he sinks into the pain of the change and is aware of nothing more.]

[Silence. That was even worse than the screams. She stops running. Her hands shake on the device and her throat goes dry.]

Conan...Conan... Please. Answer me. Give me some sign of where you are. Shout. Throw something. Smoke signals. Anything!

Please...don't leave me...

[From the communicator there is no response. Shinichi is only aware of the pain of his body shrinking once again. This never got easier to bear.]

[She sets her jaw and grips the communicator tighter. She'll keep searching for him until she hears from him or finds him, even if it takes all day. At the very least, she knows he's in range somewhere now.]

[Was that Conan? It didn't sound like him all that much, but this was definitely Conan's frequency. He didn't have much time to ponder the fact before there was screaming on the other side of the feed. And it wasn't an angry yelling--it was the kind of screaming when something was hurting you. His response was a little bit more panicked than would be beneficial to the situation.]

C-Conan?! Where are you? Are you hurt?! I can come find you and I'll bring help! I just have to know where you are..!

Woah! ( Reacting only to the scream. )

[Luke? That was Luke? He was still in this place after all of these months? Shinichi bites back another scream as he feels another wave of pain hit.]

K-Kudo! Where are you!?

[Shinichi isn't answering. Has no way of answering without his voice changer. There is only the sound of hoarse breathing and gasps of pain.]

[Shinichi relaxes slightly at the sound of the familiar voice. Hattori was still here. He doesn't try to figure out how Hattori could be here when they had just been walking together in East Okuho. For now the important thing was to get the information across.]

Lander.

[He clutches at his chest again as a another wave of pain hits. Not yet. He needed to hold the change off just a few seconds longer.]

Near Marshall.

I'll be there in a few minutes!

Don't move!

Kudo! It's me!

[And because those few minutes were far too long for him to hold off the change, he'll come out of the alley as Conan. Just dressed in a very familiar looking blue feathered costume. He's rolled the sleeves and pant legs up as far as they would go, and they still hang past his hands and drag along the ground.]

What are ya doin' in that?

N-no wait. How were ya even Shinichi in th' first place?

What are you talking about? You were there for all of it.

Yeah. I was. A couple months ago!

I told ya, our last case together was with th' demon dog.

And I told you, I've never had a case with demon dogs. And this se wasn't a few months ago. We just finished it.

I can tell ya what ya were gonna do next. Ya were teeterin' between stayin' yerself an' changin' back so I took ya ta th' restroom. Even offered my bag fer ya ta hide in so th' others wouldn't find out, but ya managed ta stay as Kudo fer longer than that. An' on th' care trip back there was another case we solved tagether. Durin' th' case ya still risked changin' back th' whole time. This was months ago Kudo.

Don't tell me I have ta go inta detail fer ya ta remember.

[He shoves the slipping costume back up on his shoulder irritably.]

None of that happened. I felt myself start to turn back, and then I was here again.

They're messin' with yer memories Kudo. I already told ya that happened months ago.

Change into these.

If they are doing such a thing, it would be several orders beyond anything that has been developed so far. And it does not explain why I arrived here as Shinichi.

[The only reason he was willing it consider such an explanation at all was the fact that he had not remembered this place until he had arrived here again. That too, was impossible given the current knowledge of the human mind. He takes the clthes and steps back into the alley to change.]

That's anotherin' thing, Kudo. Why did ya arrive here as Shinichi? Only a few of us know about yer real identity.

Maybe we haven't been givin' them enough credit.

[JUMPS TEN FEET INTO THE AIR WHAT IS THAT SCREAM?!]
