Conan is a deduction genius and incredibly observant. Like his idol he is capable of performing a Sherlock Scan on people he meets. Since I certainly don't know all of the canons in this game and since he could possibly bring up things in this way you don't want getting figured out, I put together this short permissions post.
So to help figure out this ability, please answer the following questions for your characters.

on 2011-06-23 11:38 pm (UTC)2. Is it okay for Conan to deduct something about your character's history? Is there anything you don't want him to figure out? Sure, anything he can deduce is fine.
3. What is your character's physical appearance? Please include clothing style, hair color, calluses, scars, and anything else that might be visible. Oddest things first: She’s about 6’4” and has pointed (but normal sized) ears. That out of the way, she’s perfectly human looking. No visible scars-actually, her skin is probably ridiculously smooth and pale, given her station. She’s rather renowned in-universe for her beauty, especially in terms of her hair, which is golden “shot with strands of silver” and goes down to about her waist. Her eyes are never talked about in the books, so I’m assuming they are blue, as per the movies, but regardless, they are very intense. She dresses pretty much exclusively in flowing white gowns (what can she say? She likes symbolism) and sometimes will be wearing a circlet. (http://images.wikia.com/lotr/images/b/b6/Galadriel04.jpg) She also wears a plain gold band on the index finger of her right hand-the Elvish version of a wedding ring.
4. Does your character have any odd tics or habits? Not particularly.
5. Does your character have an accent? Voice of Awesome. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3s5KGRp_OY) It's described in LOTR as "clear and musical, but deeper than woman's wont."
6. Does your character have any hobbies that might leave clues on your character's appearance? For example a character who spent lot of time writing or drawing might have ink stains on their hands or clothes. Or a character who played a lot of a certain sport might have calluses. She plays the harp-I don’t know if that would leave calluses or not. She has fought with swords and bows, but that was thousands of years ago and not very frequently, so I can’t imagine that left many marks.
7. Is there anything else about your character that Conan might be able to deduct? If the clothing isn’t enough already, her general mannerisms and the way she carries herself should make it pretty clear that she’s royalty/nobility. She’s pretty serene most of the time, but the more perceptive may be able to sense a bit of melancholy about her. If he talks to her for long enough he will notice that there are certain topics that she will never discuss directly or in great detail. She will dance around certain aspects of the Undying Lands (and how her people left there) and she will never speak of what her loss actually is, other than to say that it is an item of great power. And when talking about her family, she talks a lot more about her grandchildren than her daughter.

on 2011-06-24 01:27 pm (UTC)I actually do know a few harp players and can say with certainty that it does leave calluses. True, those are full orchestra harps. But I imagine that would be true for the smaller harps as well.

on 2011-06-24 03:31 pm (UTC)Oh good! I kind of figured, but I have never even seen a harp in RL, so I had no idea.

on 2011-06-24 03:51 pm (UTC)Yeah, its the same for most string instruments. But especially harps because of the plucking. If you don't start slow and build up your calluses you can actually get blisters and make your fingers bleed.

on 2011-06-24 03:59 pm (UTC)And this is the problem with playing characters who are far more musically inclined than you are. I can tell you that a beginning trombone player may get swollen lips, but that's about it. :\

on 2011-06-24 06:54 pm (UTC)Whereas I pick a character who is legendary for his complete tonedeafness.
