modernholmes[Conan tosses and turns restlessly in his sleep, obviously struggling against a bad dream. All of a sudden he bolts straight up with a half-strangled scream and falls out of bed. He doesn't even notice his hand knocking his communicator onto the floor.]
RAN!
[He looks around frantically for a moment, then slumps back to the ground.]
Just a dream, is it? How embarrassing.
[He knew what had brought it on, of course. So many people had been attacked recently. Some of them close friends. And... he had been completely useless when Hattori had been attacked. With this child's body he had been helpless to do anything more than watch over Kazuha and Ran.
He knew better. Everyone was fine. But all the same he found that he couldn't resist the urge to check on everyone. He hastily stands up and begins to silently make his way toward Ran's room.]

And Conan's day just got so much worse. Why can't anyone just let him brood in peace?
