Tenth Deduction [Accidental Voice/Action for Housemates]

[Conan tosses and turns restlessly in his sleep, obviously struggling against a bad dream. All of a sudden he bolts straight up with a half-strangled scream and falls out of bed.  He doesn't even notice his hand knocking his communicator onto the floor.]

RAN!

[He looks around frantically for a moment, then slumps back to the ground.]

Just a dream, is it?  How embarrassing.

[He knew what had brought it on, of course. So many people had been attacked recently.  Some of them close friends.  And... he had been completely useless when Hattori had been attacked.  With this child's body he had been helpless to do anything more than watch over Kazuha and Ran.

He knew better.  Everyone was fine.  But all the same he found that he couldn't resist the urge to check on everyone.  He hastily stands up and begins to silently make his way toward Ran's room.]

[ Another sigh as she shakes her head. She's not sure if she'll get back to sleep either, really...but if Conan's going to try, then so will she. ]

...m'counting on you then. I'll--I'll check up on you two first thing tomorrow.

[ Her hand hovers over her communicator, hesitating to end the call. ]

[He tries to put as much reassurance into his voice as he can, all the while mentally kicking himself for making Ran worry. That had been the last thing he'd wanted.]

[ She lets out a sigh, hesitating for a moment longer before ending the call. He needs his rest, after all and so does she, though she knows it'll take her a while to get back to sleep, now.

She rolls back over anyway, though, to try, and vows to keep her promise to check in on the both of them the next day. ]
